Stephen J. Baker

Stephen J. Baker passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 69, at Stein Hospice. He was born on December 15, 1954, in Hartford, CT, to the late Peter and Lois Baker.

Steve was a devout member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where his faith was important to him throughout his life. He was known for his memory and his kindness, which touched the lives of many within the parish and community.

Steve was a 1974 graduate of Huron High School.  For many years, Steve worked at Marconi's Restaurant where he enjoyed working for the Martello family and with Janet Majoy.  In his leisure time, he found joy in reading newspapers and history books, riding his bike around town, and stopping to chat with friends and neighbors.

Steve is survived by his sister, Ellen Baker of Huron; his brothers, Chris (Karen) Baker of Huron, Charles Baker of Palm Springs, CA, and Jerry (Corinne) Baker of Sheboygan, WI; nieces, Sarah Baker, Margaret (Tyler) Kerr, and Kathryn Baker; nephew, Gregory (Jordan) Baker; and other extended family members. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece and Goddaughter, Lauren Baker.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron 44839. A Mass will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron.
